PML-N to approach LHC to seek Nawaz's removal from ECL: Shehbaz Sharif
- The PML-N president said that they are rejecting government's demand of indemnity bonds.
- He said government by asking the PML-N to submit indemnity bonds to secure permission for Nawaz to travel abroad was in fact demanding ransom.
Pakistan Muslime League - Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif announced on Thursday of the party's plan to approach the Lahore High Court (LHC) to seek Nawaz Sharif's removal from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Addressing a press conference, the president said that the party has rejected government's conditional offer for Nawaz to travel abroad. He further said that the government by asking the PML-N to submit indemnity bonds to secure permission for Nawaz to travel abroad was in fact demanding ransom.
He further said that when the LHC had passed its judgement that Nawaz be allowed to travel wherever, what was the use of government's condition on asking for indemnity bonds. He said while the whole nation is worried about Nawaz's health, the government is only concerned about politics. "Nawaz Sharif's health has been turned into a shuttlecock," he said.
Shehbaz said the political game staged by Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding Nawaz's health is condemnable. He said under no condition will they accept government's demand for indemnity bonds. "Imran Khan can neither give nor take an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance)like deal", Shehbaz said.
Meanwhile, LHC has fixed the petition for hearing and a two-member bench headed by Justice Baqir Ali Najfi will hear the case.
