ISPR notifies high-level promotions, postings in Pak Army
- Two Major Generals have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
- Lt General Shahid Shamshad Mirza has been deputed as Chief of General Staff.
- Lt General Noman Mahmood has been posted as Corps Commander Peshawar.
(Karachi) At least seven army officers have been assigned important duties as part of a major reshuffle in Pakistan Army, a statement issued on Monday by ISPR stated. Two major generals have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Major General Ali Amir Awan and Muhammad Saeed have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
The ISPR statement added that Lt General Muhammad Saeed has been posted as president of the National Defence University (NDU), while Lt General Ali Amir Awan has been deputed as Inspector General Communications and IT (IGC&IT).
In addition, Lt General Shahid Shamshad Mirza has been deputed as Chief of General Staff (CGS).
Besides, Lt General Noman Mahmood has been posted as Corps Commander Peshawar, while Lt General Shaheen Mazhar has been appointed as Corps Commander Mangla.
Similarly, Lt General Nadeem Zaki has been posted as Director General of Strategic Plans Division (SPD), while Lt General Muhammad Amir has been posted as Adjutant General.
On November 21, Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza as Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
Lt General Ndeem Raza replaced General Zubair Hayat, who is retiring on November 27. As Chief of General Staff, Lt Gen Raza worked closely with Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa.
