The Punjab Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution against the desecration of Holy Quran by Norway's extreme right wing group 'Stop the Islamisation of Norway (SION)' in the Norwegian city of Kristiansand.

The House also passed the resolution with majority of changing the name of Cardiology Institute in Dera Ghazi Khan from DG Khan Institute of Cardiology to Fateh Muhammad Buzdar Institute of Cardiology.

The House passed all the bills with majority rejecting all the amendments of the opposition. The bills include The Punjab Public Private Partnership Bill 2019, The University of Mianwali Bill 2019, The Punjab Animal Health Bill 2019 and The Fort Munroe Development Authority (Amendment) Bill 2019.

The Reports laid in the House include Annual Report of Ombudsman Punjab for the year 2017, Audit Report on the Accounts of Cattle Market Management Companies of Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi & Sargodha Divisions for the Audit year 2016-17, Appropriation Accounts of Government of the Punjab for the Financial year 2016-17, Financial Statement of the Government of Punjab For Financial year 2016-17, Special Audit Report on the Record of Chief Metropolitan Planners & Chief Town Planners, UD-Wing, LDA Lahore, HUD & PHE Department, Lahore, Government of the Punjab for the year 2014, Audit Report on the Accounts of C&W, HUD & PHE Irrigation, LG & CD & BISE Rawalpindi, Government of the Punjab for the Audit Year 2017-18, Special Audit Report on the Accounts of District Police Officers, Gujarat, Home Department, Government of the Punjab for the Audit year 2016-17 and Audit Report on the Accounts of Public Sector Companies ( Vol- III) Government of Punjab for the Audit year 2017- 18.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi directed Irrigation Minister Sardar Mohsin Laghari to ensure that Bhal Safai should be conducted in the province on regular basis. He said that Bhal Safai was not done in Gujrat for the last five years.

He also said the government should focus on building small dams. He said during last five years many small dams were built in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In his tenure as chief minister Punjab, many small dams were built but unfortunately during the tenure of PML- N no such dam were built in Punjab. Elahi said it was also decided in the recently-held meeting that leaders of both opposition and treasury benches should ensure that sanctity of the House will not be compromised.

While responding to the questions during the question hour, Irrigation Minister Sardar Mohsin Laghari said the government is working on 11 small dams in the province in order to increase the storage capacity. He said that government is working on the construction of Bhasha Dam. Replying to a question, he said Kala Bagh Dam can be started at any time if the consensus is developed on it. He said 29 MAF of water is wasted annually and it can be only be saved by building dams.

Speaking on the point of order, PML-N MPA Uzma Bukhari said that Viva should be abolished for medical students because teachers fail students due to liking and disliking.

Responding to a question, Health Minster Dr Yasmin Rashid said if Viva is conducted by both internal and external examiners, however, she will check in such incident has happened that teacher failed someone on personal liking.

Minster Higher Education Punjab Raja Yasir said that he principally agreed with MPA that ability of the students should not be checked on the basis of one exam.
