Welcoming Prime Minister Imran Khan's statement on revival of student unions, Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) chief Muhammad Aamir on Monday extended all-out cooperation of the students to the government.

Addressing a press conference here at National Press Club, he said that revival of student unions remained principal agenda of IJT and the organization has been making efforts in this connection for decades by using all the legal means. He stated that students unions are necessary for the glorious future of the country like the progressive world, adding that since 1984 the government of Pakistan has banned student unions, which is a violation of fundamental rights.

He also stated that students must have platform under which they can struggle for their educational rights and work for the betterment of students and institutions as well. He also put his remarks over Solidarity March while saying that Jamiat is in favor of revival of student unions but the government should set some modalities for student unions so that no one can use the flag of union for one's own cause of agenda.
