U-19 World Cup: Ijaz Ahmed pins hopes on pacer Naseem Shah
Pinning hopes with pacer Naseem Shah, Pakistan's Under-19 Coach Ijaz Ahmed said he is looking to have Naseem back in the Under-19 team for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa next month.
"I would speak to chief selector/head coach Misbah-ul-Haq to release the 16-year-old Naseem Shah so that he can be included in team and prepare for the World Cup," Ijaz said, adding: "Once Misbah and the team returns to Pakistan, I will speak to Misbah regarding Naseem."
Ijaz said the upcoming Sri Lanka series will be played on home ground; the national team will not need that many fast bowlers. I hope to see Naseem in the training camp. He praised the performance of Naseem Shah in the Test series against Australia and in particular dismissal of David Warner.
