A bill seeking to end Sindh Governor's power of consent for appointment of provincial advisors was presented in the Sindh Assembly on Thursday.

The bill, once passed into law, will empower the Chief Minister to appoint advisors without any consent of the Sindh Governor. It was tabled by Sindh Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mukesh Kumar Chawla. The bill titled "The Sindh Advisors (Appointment, Powers, Functions, Salaries, and Privileges (Amendment), Bill, 2019", was sent to the house standing committee on law for further deliberations. It will now be presented before the house within two weeks for legislation.

Answering a question, Sindh Health Minister, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho told the house that a kid known as Husnain suffered dog-bite in Larkana is being treated at JPMC in Karachi, adding that efforts are being under way to save the kid of Larkana. She said that all the deaths were not caused by rabies. She said that the in some areas late shifting of victims to hospitals is also a cause of deaths.

About Sindh Healthcare Commission, she replied that the commission consists of nine members, which are elected for a three-year term, with Sindh Health Minister and Secretary Health one of them. She said that the commission's head is elected on merit through a secret ballot. Dr Azra said the healthcare commission in an independent body. Dr Seema Zia of PTI had questioned the Healthcare Commission head's appointment.

Earlier, GDA's Nusrat Sehar Abbasi criticized the government for the ordeal of Dua Mangi who was reportedly kidnapped on gunpoint from DHA Karachi, saying that "it is still worrisome for a family whose daughter was kidnapped and missing for the last five days". Speaker Aga Siraj Khan Durrani, who was chairing the session, however, snubbed the female legislator over her speech.
