Naya Pakistan Housing Programme: Nadra receives 1.918 million applications
The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has received 1.918 million applications for houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.
According to NADRA, last date for submission of forms for the programme is December 15. The NADRA is providing registration facilities at its e-Sahulat franchise network by submitting a fee of Rs 250 across the country as well as the online facility through its website.
The NADRA official said that out of 1.918 million applicants, 715,473 are from labor community, 184,355 applicants belong to slums, over 34,654 are widows, 9,325 are divorced women and 5,518 applicants are members of transgender community.
The NADRA spokesman said that in the second phase, 259,276 applicants applied in Islamabad, 22,089 people applied in Lahore, 121,759 applied in Karachi, 77,569 applied in Multan, 57,442 applied in Bahwalpur and 44,685 applicants applied in Peshawar.
The Authority had extended the last date for submission of applications for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme from November 15 to December 15.
"The registration process under the housing project is in full swing across the country and applications are being submitted from all areas in big number," the spokesman added.
Overseas Pakistanis and others wishing to own their houses on installments can also apply online while sitting in their homes by accessing NADRA'S website nphp.nadra.gov.pk without any additional fee.
Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the second phase of registration for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme in mid-July this year, asserting the scheme would provide affordable housing to low-income sections of society.
