  • She has requested to be allowed to go abroad for six weeks.
  • Maryam was granted bail by the LHC on November 4 in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday seeking the removal of her name from Exit Control List (ECL).

In her petition, Maryam said that she wants to go abroad for six weeks. She requested the court to allow her to travel to London to care for her father Nawaz Sharif.

Maryam made the federal government, the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and others respondents in the petition. The high court has accepted her petition and a two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi will take it up on Monday.

Just a day earlier, NAB had approached the Supreme Court (SC) seeking cancellation of Maryam's bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. NAB requested SC to declare the LHC's verdict null and void.

Maryam was granted bail by the LHC after her father's health deteriorated. She was also asked to submit her passport to the court, while her name was placed on the ECL. Maryam is being investigated in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case by the accountability watchdog.
