Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar held a meeting with Director General Rangers Punjab Maj. Gen. Amir Majeed here on Wednesday and exchanged views on border security situation and matters of mutual interest.

While paying glowing tributes to the officers and jawans of Rangers, Sarwar said the entire nation is proud of sacrifices rendered by Rangers for defending the borders and establishment of peace. Valorous sons of Pakistan always wrote new history with their precious blood and today Pakistan has become a peaceful country, he said. "The Pakistan Armed Forces, Rangers and all other security institutions are reciprocating to country's enemies in befitting manner."

Later addressing the 'Interfaith Harmony and Religious Freedom Conference' at Governor House, which was also attended by Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ejaz Alam and delegations from various countries, the Governor said that Pakistan has rendered far more sacrifices than any other country in the war against terrorism and peace has always been remained first priority of Pakistan.
