Turkey's defense giant ASELSAN - Askeri Elektronik Sanayi, Military Electronic Industries, is all set to open offices in Pakistan next year, as the defense goods manufacturer aims to boost its marketing opportunities.

As per Daily Sabah, a Turkish daily, multibillion dollar company ASELSAN, which recorded $1.87 billion in revenue in 2018, currently sells its products to 65 countries and the company is aiming to expand its defense transactions with Pakistan, by opening its office in January next year.

ASELSAN deals with manufacturing military equipment, it also designs, develops and manufactures modern electronic systems for military and industrial customers.

Last year, Turkey delivered a navy fleet tanker to Pakistan, recording the highest single-item defense export. The fleet tanker PNS MOAWIN, was developed by STM and Pakistani Naval Forces as the first ship of its class.  With a weight 16,400 tons and a length of approximately 158 meters, it can reach speeds of 20 knots with two propellers that have adjustable blade angles powered by two diesel motors.

ASELSAN also has offices in Azerbaijan, Philippines, Qatar, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates and Northern Macedonia. The company works through localization efforts in the countries it operates in to boosts its export capacity.

The offices are run by Turkish general managers and employ local staff.
