MQM-P concerned at non-implementation of pact with PTI

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Thursday showed concern over the slow implementation of its pact with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to enter into coalition government after last year's general elections.

"PTI-led federal government should act upon the agreement with the MQM-P in letter and spirit, the Coordination Committee of the party stressed when it met under the chairmanship of Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Convener of the party here.

Meeting reviewed the overall political situation in the county as well as the party affairs of MQM-P.

According to an announcement of the party, the meeting also expressed its concern over the non-improvement in the national economy and rising inflation in the country by terming it burden on the people.

MQM-P urged that federal government to take the measures to arrest the rising trends in inflation.

Party described what it called deliberate irregularities in the last national census "constitutional crime" and called it a violation of the human rights of people of urban centers of Sindh.

It also accused Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh Government of ignoring the urban parts of the province. Party said that K-IV project is pending for the last twelve years as well as the urban areas are also facing numerous problems. "Sindh Government is continuously showing criminal ignorance, which is condemnable", MQM-P stated.

Party called upon federal government to speed up the implementation of its commitment and take necessary measures to provide relief to the people of urban Sindh.

Senior Deputy Convener Aamir Khan and members of Coordination Committee attended the meeting.
