  • The COAS said the APS carnage will never be forgotten.

The fifth anniversary of the horrendous attack on the Army Public School (APS), Peshawar in 2014 is being observed today nationwide.

About 150 people, including 138 APS students, were shot dead on December 16, 2014 by terrorists after they stormed into the school. A number of activities and functions will be held across the country to remember the sacrifices of the innocent children.

A special function has also been arranged in APS Peshawar to pay homage to the martyred students and teachers of the school. In his message, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa saluted the martyrs and their families and said that the APS carnage will never be forgotten.

He further said that five of the involved terrorists have been hanged through military courts. "We have come a long way in failing terrorism as a nation. United we move towards lasting peace and prosperity of Pakistan," the COAS said.

Netizens and several politicians took to their Twitter handle and paid homage to the APS martyrs.
