PPP accuses Musharraf of assassinating Benazir, Bugti
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has claimed that General Pervez Musharraf (retd) is also involved in the assassinations of Benazir Bhutto, Akbar Bugti, bloodshed on May 12, 2007 and others cases. While talking to media persons here at Liaquat Bagh on Tuesday, PPP Secretary Information and MNA Dr Nafisa Shah said, "I will ask the judiciary to hear more cases against Pervez Musharraf."
She said that Special Court's judgment in Musharraf case is a big day for the Constitution and democracy. "It is a historic decision. Musharraf had violated the Constitution twice. Such decisions restore the public's confidence in the courts."
She said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is carrying on the vision of his mother Benazir Bhutto. She said that Asif Ali Zardari was the first president who voluntarily asked the Parliament for constitutional legislations to delegate his powers.
She claimed that the present government is malicious and it damaged the sanctity of the institutions. She also claimed that the PTI government also damaged the local government system.
Answering a question, Dr Nafisa Shah said that the PPP is reviewing the detailed judgment of the Supreme Court on the extension of an army chief with its legal team. She said that the PTI government has no idea what to do. "It remains to be seen whether the issue will be resolved together or the 'escape route' will be used," she said.
The PPP leader said that there are groups in every political party but there is no difference on the party agenda. She said that bails were granted to Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur on the base of merit. She said that the judge asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) how many people are the accused and how many have been arrested. The NAB has a long list but only Zardari and Faryal were arrested, she said. She claimed that the NAB had approached the high court five times to stop hearing of the foreign funding cases.
