Investment and business: Buzdar vows to turn Punjab into a model province
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday expressed his resolve to make Punjab as a model province for investors, industrialists and businessmen.
As many as, 17 economic hubs have been identified in Punjab and the provincial economy will be strengthened though their development, the CM said while talking to advisor on Economic Affairs and P&D Dr Salman Shah who called on him, here.
Dr Shah presented the Punjab business plan document to the chief minister who appreciated his efforts for preparing a comprehensive document of the business plan. The CM maintained that the Punjab business plan will help promote business and economic activities. He reiterated that ease of doing business will be ensured at every level and Punjab will be developed as a hub of investment.
Sardar Usman hoped that ease of doing business will strengthen the economy and also help create more job opportunities. "Reforms have been introduced for the promotion of investment and all the necessary facilities will be provided under one roof," he said, adding: "The government will take many more steps so that investment is further increased and the achievement of targets will be ensured through short-term, medium and long-term policies."
He said that accelerated work is required to promote e-commerce and e-governance in the province. He also assured to provide full support for strengthening the provincial economy.
Dr Shah said on this occasion that a comprehensive strategy has been devised to strengthen the provincial economy along with the accelerated industrial process. The government has taken concerted efforts for the promotion of investment and economic activities in the province, he added.
Moreover, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf Bin Said Al-Malki called on CM Punjab and discussed matters of mutual interest.
Talking on this occasion, the CM said that Saudi Arabia has always extended full support to Pakistan on the diplomatic front and relations between the two countries are touching new heights during the incumbent government.
The Saudi ambassador said, on this occasion, that Saudi Arabia gives special importance to its relations with Pakistan and added that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have sided with each other like brothers and this relation will be further strengthened. He also appreciated the steps taken for public welfare in Punjab.
