Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Sunday called upon the international community to take notice of dangerous steps taken by Indian government, badly affecting peace of South Asia. In a statement, the Foreign Minister referred to the continued protest demonstrations within India against the controversial Citizen Act, saying that all minorities particularly Muslims in India have been protesting against discriminatory Act and their entire opposition is also protesting.
Qureshi said that that he had informed UN Security Council about apprehensions and possible threats in his letter on December 12, 2019. He also cautioned that India can resort to a false flag operation to divert attention and unprovoked ceasefire violation along LoC is also continuing, adding that he has also informed the world body of the apprehensions.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan has befittingly responded to the unprovoked firing of Indian forces in which a large number of casualties have been reported and their posts also targeted.
He said that Pakistan has also informed the Islamabad based ambassadors of Permanent Five members of the UN Security Council that India may resort to another staged drama during the Christmas vacations.
He also said that he would place before the federal cabinet on Tuesday about summoning of the OIC meeting on Kashmir and the situation in India. "Further silence will be dangerous and we have to make a formal request with the OIC that the member states should standby us," he added.
