Narowal Sports City project: NAB has told court there exists no evidence of corruption, claims Marriyum

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has claimed that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) admitted in the court that there is no accusation or evidence of corruption in the Narowal Sports City project and it proves that Ahsan Iqbal has been arrested over his criticism against disastrous rule of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Talking to media persons on Tuesday, Marriyum said that NAB has nothing but accusation of 'misuse of authority' which the entire nation knows is the age-old tool of political victimization.

"The people of Pakistan are fully aware of the truth behind this 'misuse of authority' playing for the past 16 months and they know this is just another diversion from the destruction of the country caused by the selected Prime Minister Imran Khan and his imposed regime," she added.

She said, "The biggest culprit guilty of misuse of authority is Imran Khan who has misused his authority and abused his powers to make FIA and NAB his tools of political victimization and vengeance." She said Imran has misused his authority to imprison PML-N leaders in death-row cells and solitary confinements without any evidence or proof.

"If serving the people and fulfilling the promises of development and progress with transparency and devotion is misuse of authority, PML-N will continue committing this misuse of authority every time it comes into power. PML-N will continue fulfilling the promises made to Pakistan because it does not believe in taking u-turns on promises. Every leader who exposes the incompetent, inept and selected Prime Minister will be thrown behind bars. But that will not shake the foundation of PML-N because such hardships for the rights of the people of Pakistan are a feather in PML-N's cap," Marriyum claimed. "This PTI regime is a government selected on SRO," she added.

She challenged that the selected Prime Minister is so clueless and incompetent that he would not even know what ECNEC, NEC, PSDP and CDWP stand for. She challenged Imran to explain the process of getting a project approved from the parliamentary system.

She said Ahsan Iqbal did not sanction approval of any of the projects unilaterally but the approval was given by all relevant forums of which also included PTI representatives. Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, Ahsan not only brought back to life the dead project of Narowal Sports City but also that of Lowari Tunnel, Kachi Canal, Liyari Expressway, New Islamabad Airport and others, she said.

Ahsan fulfilled the promise made to the people of Narowal, unlike the selected Prime Minister who has not only defied his promises to the people but has taken a u-turn on every single one of them, she alleged. Instead of the five million homes and ten million jobs promised from the container, Imran took away jobs of millions and rendered thousands others homeless. The PML-N fulfilled every promise from solving the energy crisis, bringing economic prosperity through CPEC, connecting federal units through motorways, bringing massive employment opportunities and developing countries.

She said that the so-called flag-bearers of transparency and accountability have approached the Supreme Court to stop investigation into Rs 1 trillion corruption in Peshawar Metro. She said the PTI government's Peshawar Development Authority has filed a petition to halt the process of accountability. This, she said, is the truth of the accountability rant of selected Imran and his imposed regime.

She said, "The truth of the selected Prime Minister who talks of accountability is that he has been misusing authority to impede the foreign funding case where billions of rupees were funneled illegally into undeclared 26 accounts." She said this case has transformed the fate of the country as this laundered money has compromised Pakistan's security and national interest.
