Spokesperson of Pakistan Television (PTV) said that PTV could not broadcast a portion of the Prime Minister's address to the civil servants held on January 2, 2020 due to a technical glitch occurred in the computer playback system at PTV News which started malfunctioning resulting in the mishap while the speech was being broadcast as live on PTV News.
It has been revealed by the initial inquiry as ordered by the SAPM on Information & Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.
However, complete recording of the speech was televised by PTV News at 8:00 pm the same evening. Meanwhile, the Managing Director PTV has initiated an inquiry into the incident to pinpoint the official responsible for the technical mishap.
It is to be noted that a comprehensive equipment upgradation process has already been initiated by the current management at PTV that is expected to complete within a span of a few months. After which such occurrences would be completely eliminated.-PR
