The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday opened discussion on National Finance Commission (NFC) Award after adopting a joint adjournment motion moved by Opposition leader Akram Khan Durrani, MMA's Inayatullah, ANP Sardar Hussain Babak, PML-N Aurangzeb Nalota and Nighat Yasmin Orakzai of PPP.

Commencing debate NFC Award, Inayatullah Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami said that after the merging of erstwhile FATA the share of KP province has increased in the award. He said that under the constitution the share of province would have to increase in every award while keeping in view the increase in population. He said if the federation would not give due share to small provinces in NFC award it would be a setback.

After the speech of the JI legislator, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the house till 2:00 PM of Tuesday. The house will now resume debate on NFC today. Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was informed that the provincial government has initiated 308 MW power projects with an amount of Rs 81946 million during the last six year.

In a written reply to a question of JUIF Naeema Kishwar during question hours session, it was informed that the power projects include 10.8 MW in Jabori district Mansehra, 11.2 MW in Karorah in district Shangla, 40.6 MW in Dir Lower, 69 MW in Chitral, 84 MW in Swat, 4.2 MW in Chitral, 53 MW Mini Macro Hydel Project Phase-II and 356 mini Macro hydel power projects in Malakand and Hazara Divisions.
