TV anchorperson Mubasher Lucman has approached the Model Town police, seeking registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry and his private guards for subjecting him to severe violence during the wedding ceremony of Punjab Irrigation Minister Mohisn Laghari's son.

In June last year, the Federal Minister had also slapped Sami Ibrahim, Bol TV anchorperson, during a wedding ceremony in Faisalabad.

In his application submitted at the Model Town police station late Sunday night, the anchorperson said he was attending the event along with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, PTI stalwart Jahangir Tareen and various federal and provincial ministers.

He alleged that when he was talking to his friends, the minister along with his 10-12 armed guards attacked him. "After subjected me to severe violence and hurling life threats, they left the site," the anchorperson quoted as having said in the complaint.

Prior to this incident, Mubasher alleged that the minister had given him life threats several times via mobile phone warning that "he (the minister) will get me killed if did not stop allegations". He also nominated two eyewitnesses Rao Awais and Naveed Sheikh in the complaint. The FIR was yet to be registered till filling of this report.

On Sunday, the Federal Minister had slapped the anchorperson for defaming and tagging him and other cabinet members of the ruling PTI with TikTok girls Hareem Shah and Sundal Khattak during his January 4 programme titled "who will be the next of Hareem Shah?"

During the programme, Mubasher with another anchorperson, Rai Saqib Kharal, had claimed that the TikTok girls have several "immoral" pictures and videos of many bureaucrats, provincial and Federal Ministers including Fawad Chaudhry.

In particular, the anchorpersons claimed that the two girls have several videos of Chaudhry that could be released any time. The show also claimed that Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan had close links with the girls and had been introducing them to top political figures of the PTI government.

Referring to a leaked audio of Chohan giving instructions to Hareem that she should steer clear of Lucman and Kharal, the show said the two girls had recorded Chohan too.

On the day of the incident, the minister while talking to a private TV channel defended himself saying that he had complaint to relevant authorities including Advisor to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar and director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wajid Zia besides others, but all in vain.

He claimed that when he left with no other option, he did so to "give a sort of reply" to the allegations leveled against him. "One should be ready to face a reaction when you level "baseless" allegations against anyone," he said, adding that Lucman had no video of him and was leveling allegations simply to improve the ratings for his channel.

The minister claimed that several people met him at different events almost every day and if someone had a selfie with him, it did not mean that "I have any links with the individual". "I have never met Hareem Shah and any allegation of immoral videos is just baseless."

It is worth mentioning that many social media users were discussing the alleged "relationships" of the TikTok girls after they uploaded several "objectionable" videos of the sitting cabinet members including Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan and Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed.
