An Accountability Court hearing multibillion rupees fake bank accounts case on Friday extended judicial remand of two accused namely Tariq Ahsan, president Sindh Bank, and Bilal Sheikh, ex-president of Sindh Bank, till January 28.
Both the accused were produced before Accountability Court Judge Azam Khan from Adiala Jail upon expiry of their judicial remand. The court extended judicial remand of both the accused.
The NAB on July 10, 2019 arrested Nadeem Altaf, Ahsan and Sheikh. The bank officials face charges of allegedly granting loans worth Rs 1.8 billion to Seracom Stock and Capital Private Limited, Parkview Stock Capital Limited and Rubicon Builders and Developers Private Limited. These companies are of Omni Group owned by Anwer Majeed, a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari. Accountability Court on September 11 freed Nadeem Altaf, executive vice president of Sindh Bank, after he became an approver against other accused.
