Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser has said that Muttahida Qoumi Movement (MQM) is the coalition partner of the PTI government and we will address their reservations. He was talking to the media on the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of a sports gala at Sports' Complex Swabi and office of the Rescue 1122 at District Headquarters Complex Shah Mansoor on Sunday.
The NA speaker said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a three-member committee comprising Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Omar and PTI stalwart Jahangir Tareen for holding negotiations with the MQM. He said that he himself will also contact MQM to redress their reservations.
Regarding the resignation of the MQM convener, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, he said that Siddiqui is a good man and we are confident that he will withdraw his resignation.
He acknowledged that the people were facing issues like price hike, but they will soon get relief, saying efforts are being made to bring a special package for traders and people.
The speaker stressed for the promotion of sports activities to root out the curse of the addiction of narcotics. For this purpose, he said they will promote sports activities.
He said that a war against narcotics would be waged in collaboration with the people and will not tolerate the menace of drugs and will not accept the influence of anyone in this regard. Asad Qaiser said that the year 2020 will prove as the year of progress, development, employment and abolition of the economic crisis. He said that Special Economic Zone at Rashakai will generate millions of employment opportunities for the youth.
