A trade fair was organised to showcase the women handicrafts belonging different regions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which Afghan refugees women entrepreneurs were also participated. The trade fair was held under auspices of the women Chamber of Commerce and Industry in premises of the chamber house on Sunday. A number of stalls were set up in the day-long women trade fair, wherein diverse variety of women handmade products put on display. This is first-ever trade fair in which Afghan refugees women were showcased their handmade products. A large number of women visitors thronged to trade fair and took keen interest in their handmade work. Ms Fitrat Ilyas Bilour, WCCI founder leader, and Ms Rukhsana Nadir, president of the women chamber inaugurated the women handicraft bazaar. They toured different stalls and took keen interest in diverse women handmade products and appreciated their work. Afghan Refugees women were imparted in skills training programme, funded by UNHCR and now they have displayed their finishing products in this trade fair. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Association of Business Professional and Agriculture for Women and Makers of Easy color also showcased their products in the women trade exhibition. Rukhsana Nadir, while speaking on the occasion said WCCI will arrange further trade expo to promote the women handicraft and establish their market linkages.

She asked the women entrepreneurs to ensure their participation in such a trade fair. She expressed the hope that the trade fair will be helpful to further strengthen their business and establish market linkage for promotion of handicraft in market an effective manner and to increase income.

WCCI chief emphasized the need for establishment close linkages businesswomen to market their finishing products with efficient manner. She said women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are very talented as they have ability to excel every field, but women are required proper platform and opportunities to show their skill work and abilities. So, she said WCCI platform is available for them and promote their finishing products through such event in efficient manner.
