Can relate to being attacked for ethnicity, marrying hero of another country: Jemima on Meghan Markle

• Jemima said she knows what it is like to be married to a national hero from different country.
• Jemima and Imran Khan parted ways in 2004 but she is still very supportive to Khan at his difficult times.

Giving her take on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepping back as senior royals, PM Imran Khan’s former wife Jemima Goldsmith has disclosed in a tweet that she can relate to being attacked for marrying a hero from another country, ethnicity and religion.

Jemima was married to Imran for nine years [1995-2004] and they have two sons together. Jemima said she knows what it is like to be married to a national hero from a different country and ethnicity. “I don’t necessarily agree with the way Meghan and Harry have handled things but I know what Princess Diana went through and what it’s like to marry a national hero from another country and be attacked by the media for your ethnicity (too Jewish, in my case),” she wrote.

Although, Jemima and Imran parted ways in 2004 but she is still very supportive of her former husband through his difficult times.

Actor Mehwish Hayat also replied to Jemima’s 'heartbreaking' tweet. She said, "This breaks my heart. If only the world was more accepting and let people just be".
