While announcing his party to hold protest demonstrations and rallies today (Friday) across the province against the increasing price-hike, unemployment and government 'anti-masses' policies, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) provincial Ameer, Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said the holding of fresh elections is the only option to steer the country out from prevailing crisis situation as incumbent PTI government failed to deliver.

Speaking a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, JI provincial chief held the federal and provincial governments responsible for current 'price-hike', flour and sugar crisis in the country. He said the incumbent PTI government has snatched bread and butter from people since its rule in the country.

Flanked by JI Provincial deputy chief, Sabir Hussani, Secretary Information, Saheebuddin Kakakhel, Media Coordinator, Jamaat Ali Shah, JI Youth President, Sadiqur Rehman Paracha, JI district Peshawar ameer, Ateequr Rehman, he said the prices of essential food commodities has skyrocketed in the country, making life of the poor masses miserable.

JI leader said the government itself admitted about hike in prices of medicines, while despite increase in power and gas tariffs, electricity and gas are unavailable to people in the country. He said the price of petroleum products is gradually increasing in the county inspite of the declining trend in the global market.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad said the poor people are kicking the bucket because of the storm of 'anti-masses' policies of the incumbent government. He said the government showed the dreams of prosperity, rise, and shine and promised to remove the painful and ghastly days of the poor. Unfortunately, he said these promises of prosperity proved to be mere daydreams. The poor are completely shocked since they had lots of expectations from the new government, he added.

"Those who talked about creating jobs opportunities for more than 10 million, had unemployed 3.4 million people during last 16 months", JI leader said. He said Pakistani rupee has sharply devalued against currency of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad said the non-availability of flour and roti in agricultural country is incomprehensible, adding that people wait in long queue to get a bag of flour. He termed the flour and sugar crisis in the country as worst kind of incompetence of the PTI government.

JI leader said the government exported 5,000 tons wheat on cheap price, now it is importing 3,000 ton wheat. He said PTI leader Jahangir Tareen exported wheat now he is importing the commodity.

He said the PTI leadership is standby flour mill mafia. He said PTI leader Jahangir Tareen should be arrested and investigated.
