Property & professional tax: Last date not to extend from 31st: E&T department
Sindh Excise and Taxation department has decided not to extend the last date for property and professional tax from January 31, 2020. The decision has been made at a meeting held at minister's office here on Monday, which was attended by Secretary Abdul Haleem Sheikh, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Director Excise Karachi Iqbal Ahmed Laghari and other officers.
Provincial Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that the property tax and professional taxpayer should deposit their taxes before 31st January and in case of non-payment of tax, the tax defaulting shop/house would not only be fined but they would also consider the option to seal the property.
He also directed the staff to ensure their presence for all kinds of guidance to the taxpayers and requested professional and property taxpayers to deposit their taxes in a timely manner as law abiding citizen of the country and to avoid any untoward situation as well.
Meanwhile, Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that businessmen could register their business online at www.excise.gos.pk and www.business-sindh.gov.pk.
