The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to ensure compensation to 92 affectees of Behka Syedan village, which is located in the centre of Sector F-11. A three-member judge bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the case pertaining to payment of compensation amount to victims of F-11, Bekha Syedan.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial asked the CDA to pay claims to the victims which had been verified by the commission. He said the high court would decide the case of remaining victims in accordance with the law. He asked whether this case was over or not, to which the counsel for the victims said the case has been pending since 2009.

He said National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had also filed six references in the case. The counsel for CDA said NAB had arrested 25 CDA officials in that connection. The counsel for the victims said the high court had constituted commission on the matter.

The commission confirmed the claim of 92 victims, but CDA was not paying those claims, he added. Justice Mazhar Alam Khan said if the commission was formed by the high court, the relevant forum was the high court. The CDA counsel said the commission did not recommend payment of compensation to all victims. The commission confirmed the claims of 92 out of the 505 victims, he added.
