Pakistan pace sensation Harif Rauf has been named in the Big Bash League season nine team of the year after stunning run the competition.

Rauf — who joined Melbourne Stars as an overseas replacement for the injured South African legend Dale Steyn — claimed 16 wickets in seven games, which includes a fifer and a hat-trick.

Marcus Stoinis, the leading run scorer in the tournament with 612, and Glenn Maxwell are the other two Stars featured in the BBL 09 team.

Maxwell is also the captain of the team of the year on the back his performance in the field, both as a player and the captain of the Stars.

Sydney Thunder’s left-arm pacer Daniel Sams, who became the first bowler to take 30 wickets in a single BBL season, is also among the team of the year.
