38 projects in Sindh: Centre releases 56 percent funds till mid January

Federal Government has released almost 56 percent of funds for 38 projects executing in Sindh, which are included in Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of current fiscal up to the mid of January 2020.

Federal Government has released almost 56 percent of funds for 38 projects executing in Sindh, which are included in Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of current fiscal up to the mid of January 2020.

Against 38 Sindh based developments in PSPD 2019-20, Federal Government released Rs.16.087 billion against total allocation of Rs.28.737 billion, official documents showed. According to documents, development schemes of Cabinet Division in Sindh received Rs.6.725 billion against Rs.14.181 billion allocations.

These schemes are Greenline Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) Karachi, Construction of Fly over at Sakhi Hassan, Five Star & KDA Round about along Sher Shah Soori Road, Karachi, Reconstruction of Mango Pir Road from Jam Chakro Banaras, Karachi, Reconstruction of Nishtar Road & Mango Pir Road Karachi, Rehabilitation / Up gradation of existing Fire Fighting system of KMC, Karachi.

Besides, Construction of Fly over on Jinnah Avenue M-9, construction of Road from Dumlottee Wells upto Link Road Adjacent to Education City District Malir, Karachi, construction of Road over Malir Band from Dada Bhai Town / Expressway upto limits of PNS Mehran District East Karachi, Greenline BRTS Operations and development schemes under Prime Minister's Program in Sindh.

The development schemes of Communication Division in Sindh received Rs.5.401 billion in the period under review against Rs.7.850 billion allocations.

Communication Division's schemes are CAREC Corridor Development Investment Program, Karachi - Lahore Motorway (Land Acquision) (CPEC) Sukkur - Hyderabad, Karachi-Hyderabad M-9 (134.5 Km), Construction / Extension of Sindh Coastal Highway from 37+346 Kms to 87+350 Kms at Tikka Goth to Connect Keti Bunder (50 kms), Construction of Fly over at the Junction of N-5 and N-65 at Sukkur.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Sindh received Rs.2.080 billion against allocations of Rs.3.110 billion. These schemes are Construction of Hostel & Academic Infrastructure at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law, Karachi, Development of Sindh Madrasatul Islam (SMIU) Campus at Education city, Malir, Karachi, Establishment of National Facility for Laboratory Animal Research and Care, HEJ, University of Karachi, Establishment of Science Labs and Creative Art Center at Sukkur IBA, Establishment of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana, Establishment of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Benazirabad, Improvement of Academic facilities at University of Karachi, Strengthening and upgradation of academic facilities at University of Sindh Jamshoro.

Furthermore strengthening of Academic Facilities at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Strengthening of Dawood University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, Strengthening of Quid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Scinece & Technology (QUEST) Nawabshah, Up-gradation of academic facilities at Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam, Upgradation of Government College of Technology (GCT) Khairpur into the Benazir Bhutto University of Technology & Skill Development, Khairpur Mirs, Up-gradation of Synthetic Fiber Development and Application Centre (SFDAC) and Plastic Technology Centre (PTC) as a sub Campus of National Textile University (NTU) are included in HEC schemes.

The development schemes of Science & Technology Division received Rs.150 million against Rs.173 million allocations and Water Resources Division's schemes received Rs.1.729 billion against Rs.3.421 billion allocations.
