Asif threatens to quit representing Pakistan

• Cueist won the first title way back in 2012 and then he won the World Cup in Antaly, Turkey last year.
• The reigning champion wore black arm band in protest during the ongoing national snooker championship.

Two-time IBSF world amateur snooker champion Muhammad Asif has threatened to quit Pakistan if his incentives announced by the government not cleared.

The top cueist wore black arm band in protest during the ongoing national snooker championship and said he is tired of running behind officials to get his incentives.

“I’m tired of running behind,” said the champion. “I have even put up my case before federal ministers and even asked President to seek out my issue.”

He added: “If that continue, I my quit representing Pakistan and play for myself.”

Asif won the first title way back in 2012 after defeating England’s Gary Wilson in the final held in Sofia, Bulgaria and then he won the World Cup in Antaly, Turkey last year after thrashing Philippines Jefrey Roda 8-5 in the final.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Billiard & Snooker Federation (PBSF) has decided to move into Supreme Court over Asif’s matter.

As per PBSF President Munawwar Hussain Shaikh, the 37-year-old is due to be given Rs10 million under the sports policy.
