The Embassy of China on Wednesday said that three Pakistani nationals infected with coronavirus had been cured and discharged from the country's hospitals.
The Embassy, in a tweet, also thanked the Chinese medical team who treated the Pakistani nationals at the hospitals in Guangzhou and Shenzhen of Guangdong province. "We are pleased to learn that three Pakistani citizens affected by coronavirus in China have been cured and discharged from hospitals in Guangzhou and Shenzhen of Guangdong Province. All the best to them! Thank you, medical team in China," the Embassy stated in a tweet.
On Monday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Special Secretary Moazzam Ahmad Khan told Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights that four Pakistani students who were earlier tested positive with coronavirus had been cured. However, it was not verified whether the three Pakistani nationals were among the four students or these were new cases. Moazzam further told the committee that there were around 1,094 Pakistanis currently in the city of Wuhan; the worst hit city by the virus.
He said that Pakistan's embassy was in constant contact with the Pakistani students and no student had till date been found positive with the virus.
