Anis Majeed, patron in chief, Karachi Wholesale Grocers Association (KWGA) and Malik Zulfiqar Ali, chairman KWGA have expressed concern over the incident of abduction of commodity vehicles coming from Punjab and Sindh to Karachi at the Indus and Super Highway and demanded increase of police patrolling to prevent such incidents.

KWGA leaders told media in a statement that two days ago the 600 bags rice-laden vehicle was abducted from Indus Highway. Another incident occurred on the super highway in Gadap area where the robbers abducted the sugar-laden trawler but the trawler also stopped at Nazimabad area after which the robbers escaped.

Anis Majeed and Malik Zulfiqar Ali have asked the Chief Minister to take notice of the abduction of commodity-laden vehicles and appealed to IG Sindh to formulate effective strategy and increase police patrolling at Indus and the super-highway to prevent the abduction of vehicles so that food grain could be easily transported to Karachi.
