Crime rate on the rise despite stringent security measures in Capital

Contrary to the tall claims made by the local police that they have taken stringent security measures in the federal capital to protect life and property of the residents, robbers have reportedly struck at six separate locations during last week.

Similarly, at least three vehicles were reported stolen during the week too. The incidents have cost residents millions of rupees in losses. According to statistics, in terms of incidence of crime, the worst-hit areas are within the limits of Kohsar, Lohi Bher and Sabzi Mandi police stations.

During the week, two people were murdered and a person was kidnapped. During the period under review, three cases of robbery were registered by the Kohsar Police Station.

Nasir Muneer Ahmed informed Kohsar police that the accused Aamir Salem and Hassan Saleem stole a mobile phone and glasses worth Rs 30,000 from his car.

Another Shahid Hussain lodged a complaint with the Kohsar Police Station that the accused Fareed and his accomplices stole gold ornament worth Rs 150,000 from his house.

Similarly, Asfandyar registered a complaint with Kohsar Police Station that unidentified robbers stole gold ornaments from his house. Muhammad Viqas lodged a complaint with Sabzi Mandi Police Station that unidentified robbers stole a laptop, a mobile phone and gold ornament worth Rs 100,000 from his house.

Moreover, Muhammad Rafique registered a compliant with Lohi Bher Police Station that his son-in-law identified as Kausar along with his family members allegedly poisoned his wife, which led to her death.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Qadri informed Koral Police Station that unidentified people kidnapped his nephew Rehan Shehzad. A car bearing registration number EA-161 belonging to Muhammad Tariq valued at Rs 1,400,000 was reported stolen from the limits of Ramna Police Station.

Similarly, Ahmed Arshad informed Margalla Police Station that the accused Ali Haider allegedly stole a mobile phone and cash Rs 40,000 from his pocket.

A woman identified as Abida was reportedly strangulated to death by unidentified people in the limits of Golra Police Station.
