HBL PSL 2020: Karachi Kings down Peshawar Zalmi by 10 runs

Karachi Kings have defeated Peshawar Zalmi in the match-two of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five at the National Stadium by 10 runs.

The visitors managed to score 191 on lose of seven wickets chasing mammoth total of 202 posted by the Kings. Liam Livingstone’s unbeaten innings of 54 runs which includes two boundaries and three maximums wasn’t enough for the Zalmi.

Despite losing two early wickets, Kamran Akmal (43) and Livingstone kept the team in the contest. With 48 runs remaining in last three overs, Skipper Darran Sammy played a 30-run cameo which reduced the deficit.

Umaid Asif, who played for the Zalmi side in previous editions, bowled a superb last over for the Kings. He only conceded five runs and claimed two wickets in the over. He finished off the spell with figures of two wickets and 23 runs in his four overs.

Earlier, world number one T20 batsman Babar Azam produced another master class innings of 78 runs to help Karachi finish 201 in their 20 overs with six wickets in hand.

Skipper Imad Wasim (50) also played a great hand with the bat as the left-hander notch his maiden half-century in HBL PSL for the winning side. His innings includes three boundaries and three maximums.

Cameron Delport and Sharjeel Khan chipped in with 20 and 19 respectively.

Hasan Ali, who is playing his first game after a long term injury, claimed two wickets for 51 runs in his spell for the losing side.
