With thousands of fans in the National Stadium Karachi (NSK) appear merriment over the return of Pakistan's biggest sports event 'HBL PSL V 2020' in the country. As many as 350 artists have performed in the opening ceremony of the HBL PSL 2020 held at NSK.

Quetta Gladiators won the toss of the first match and elected to field first. The opener of Islamabad United Colin Munro and Luke Ronchi failed to give their side an impressive start against the defending champions Quetta Gladiators.

Muhammad Nawaz took Munro's catch on his very first ball of HBL PSL V 2020. Ronchi conceded 12 runs during Sohail's second over before giving his catch to Ahmed Shehzad at backward point at the score of 38. He scored 23 of 13 balls with four boundaries and a six. Dawid Malan made first fifty of the tournament in 28 balls.

Hussain Tallat and Dawid Malan rose the scoreboard to 106 runs when Muhammad Hussnain took Talat's wicket in 12th overs. He scored 22 of 19 balls. Colin Ingram was caught out by Abdul Nasir at deep square leg by Ben Cutting's ball at the total score of 115 in 13th overs. Dawid Malan was caught by Roy at long off at the score of 127 runs. He scored 64 of 39 balls with five boundaries and 3 sixes. Ben took his wicket in his 2.5 overs. Asif Ali was out at deep cover on Hasnain's ball in 141 runs of 5 wickets.

Cutting took his third wicket after bowling out Islamabad's captain Shadab Khan at the score of 163 runs in 18 overs. Faheem Ashraf showed some resistance but was caught at mid-off on Hussnain's ball at the score of 167 of 8 wickets. Hussnain's took Musa's wicket in same over. Hussnain took four for 24 runs. Sohail with Amad's LBW wrapped Islamabad's inning at the score of 168 runs in 19.1overs.

Sarfaraz and Azam made a partnership of 62 runs when Sarfaraz LBW out on Amad's over at team score of 88 runs. He made 21 of 18 balls. Azam Khan, son of Moin Khan made his maiden fifty in HBL PSL in 28 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. He played an impressive knock of 59 of 33 balls.

Faheem bowled him out. As the scoreboard moved to 130 runs, Nawaz was caught by Amad on deep midwicket on Akif's ball in 15.2overs. He made 23 runs of 13 balls. Sohail threw his wicket to Shadab at mid-on when Quetta required 6 runs of 13 balls. Ben Cutting hit a massive six on long off for winning runs. Quetta Gladiators won the match in 18.3 overs by 3 wickets. Muhammad Hussain declared man of the match of HBL PSL V 2020.
