Protesters vandalise mosque as death toll rises to 18 in India over CAA clash
- Since Sunday, the two groups have been crashing and till now at least 186 people-56 police officers and 130 protesters have been injured.
The death toll rose to 18 on Wednesday in Delhi, India as clashes between two groups over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) turned even more violent when pro-CAA vandalised a mosque and shrine in the capital city.
Since Sunday, the two groups have been crashing and till now at least 186 people, 56 police officers and 130 protesters have been injured. The Indian police imposed a restriction on large gatherings in the area on Tuesday.

President Arif Alvi also condemned the vandalising of the mosque and said that it seems to be a reminder to Muslims of the Babri Masjid episode.
