President approves Justice Qasim’s appointment as LHC CJ

(Karachi) President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has approved appointment of Justice Qasim Khan as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, media reported on Friday. A notification in this regard has been issued by the government.
Justice Qasim Khan will take oath of the LHC CJ on March 19, 2020. Khan will replace Justice Mamoon Rasheed who is set to retire on March 18, 2020.
Justice Qasim Khan is one of the senior most judges of the LHC. He has vast experience and had decided several cases as a judge.
Earlier, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan proposed the name of Qasim Khan for the Lahore High Court chief justice. Qasim’s name was approved during the JCP meeting at the Supreme Court which was chaired by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed.
