Awareness drive about coronavirus: Federal & Sindh govts asked to submit replies on 6th

Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notices to Federal & Sindh Governments and provincial health department for March 6, 2020 to submit the replies about public awareness campaign viz-a-viz novel Coronavirus outbreak and crackdown against hoarders of face masks.

A division bench of the SHC ordered to issue notices in a petition of Abdul Jalil Khan Marwat Advocate, in which federal, provincial and their concerned departments have been made respondents. The petitioner pleaded the court to issue directives to governments and other departments to launch awareness campaign about Coronavirus as well as the guidelines for treatment of people infected from it and their treatment.

The petitioner also requested the court to issue orders to authorities to make arrangement for the distribution of face masks and the action against involved in hoarding and sale of these masks at higher prices.

The petitioner prayed the court to issue directives for emergency measures at the hospitals to deal to prevent the spread of this virus. The court clubbed the petition with the other petitions of same nature to hear them on March 6, 2020.
