Pakistan's seafood export surged by 17 percent to US$253.145 million during July-January 2019-20, official figures say. Increase in seafood export now stands at US$35.89 million during July-January 2019-20 from US$217.255 million in July-January 2018-19, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.
Seafood export volume also grew by 13 percent or 12134 metric tons to 107,053 metric tons in July-January 2019-20 from 94,919 metric tons in July-January 2018-19.
Fisheries export however went down by 16.46 percent or US$5.532 million to US$28.075 million in January 2020 from US$33.607 million in 2019. Down by 11.14 percent or US$1714 million, the country's seafood export reduced by 11.14 percent or metric tons to 13,666 metric tons in January 2020 from 15,380 metric tons in January 2019.
