Former skipper of national cricket team Sarfaraz Ahmed, who is representing Quetta Gladiator in the 5th PSL edition as its captain, may be considered for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq revealed that Sarfaraz Ahmed was under consideration for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Sarfaraz (32) was performing well in the ongoing Pakistan Super League-2020 and also was on track with his fitness which could lead to a possible call-up.
Misbah said that there will be additional matches after the conclusion of the PSL 2020 to determine who gets picked in the World Cup squad. "Sarfaraz has been playing very well in the PSL 2020 and he is also fit," he said.
Sarfaraz was reverted of his role of leading the national side in Test and T20 cricket in October last year over his poor fitness and declining performance of the team. On the other hand, Pakistan cricket team's young pacer Naseem Shah said that he aspires to play in all three formats of cricket i.e., ODIs, T20s, and Tests.
Naseem, who has represented Pakistan in four Test matches said that he looks forward to proving his mettle in T20 and ODI format as well. Naseem (17) said that he thoroughly enjoys the T20 format, expressing gratitude that he has been given the chance to perform at the home ground in front of the Pakistani crowd. He said that his primary focus now is to maintain his fitness as that is the only way he can continue to play for Pakistan.
