The Karachi Port handled 114,927 tonnes of cargo comprising 58,084 tonnes of import cargo and 56,843 tonnes of export cargo including 7,542 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.

The total import cargos of 58,084 tonnes comprised of 57,083 tonnes of containerised cargo; 451 tonnes of bulk cargo and 550 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 56,843 tonnes comprised of 44,701 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,822 tonnes of clinker; 1,920 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 4,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 7,542 containers comprising of 3,966 containers of import and 3,576 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,244 of 20's and 1,329 40's loaded while 02f 20's and 31f 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,108 of 20's and 843 of 40's loaded containers while 416 of 20's and 183 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were two ships namely Hyundai Vancouver and JPO Taurus carrying containers sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were ten vessels viz. Kabul, OOCL Chicago, JPO Taurus, Diaporos, Cembay, MTM Hamburg, Fairchem Copper, Miura, Sun Globe and Yangtze Alpha carrying containers, cement, tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

There are five ships namely Botany Bay, Diaporos, Fairchem Copper, Dubai Crown and Sun Globe carrying containers, tanker, clinker and general cargo respectively expected to sail on Wednesday.

There are six vessels viz. APL Thailand, Maple, Navig-8 Amethyst, Al Mahboobah, Hafnia Europe Globe and Dolphin Star carrying containers, tanker, chemical, mogas and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while four more vessels viz. Thor Sky, MOL Gateway, CPS Kaohsiung and Greco Libero carrying containers and clinker respectively are expected to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 191,948 tonnes comprising of 164,052 tonnes of import cargo and 27,896 tonnes of export cargo including 3,764 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The total import cargo of 164,052 tonnes includes 54,212 tonnes of coal; 32,059 tonnes of mogas; 3,800 tonnes of palm oil; 1,963 tonnes of chemical; 17,500 tonnes of LNG; 330 tonnes of LPG and 54,188 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 27,896 tonnes includes 10,568 tonnes of cement and 17,328 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 3,764 containers comprising of 2,852 containers import and 912 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There was one ship namely Glory Harvest carrying LPG sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while four more ships namely Olympic Peace, Stars Omicron, African Seto and Spruce-2 carrying coal and mogas are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of ten ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, chemical, LPG, LNG, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as fourteen vessels viz. MOL Gateway, Maersk Jalan, Kang Que Ong, Unity Force, Nord Yucatan, Aquitania, The Odosia, Jal Upasan, Stena Imprimis, NH Singapore, Maple, Tiger Harmony, FCL London and Horizon carrying containers, general cargo, coal, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were six ships viz. MOL Gateway, Kang Que Ong, Unity Force, Nord Yucatan, Aquitania and Jal Upasan carrying containers, general cargo, coal and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There are two ships namely Hugo Schulte and Aristomenis carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
