Chris Lynn smashed unbeaten ton to lead Lahore Qalandars to their first ever Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League semifinal.

He struck 105 of just 52 deliveries with help of seven maximums and 11 boundaries to guide his team to a comfortable win over Multan Sultans in match 29 of the tournament at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. This was Lynn first to outside Australia.

They will now face Karachi Kings in semifinal on March 17 at the same venue.

Opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Lynn showed no remorse chasing 187. They provided 100-run stand in nine overs. Zaman was the dominant partner in partnership, with 57 runs to his name.

He was stumped on Usman Qadir’s delivery, who made his debut for the losing side.

With 87 runs remaining from 11 overs, Lynn took over the proceedings and see his side through to the semis playing alongside skipper Sohail Akhtar, who finished 19 not out.

Earlier, Kushdil Shah’s late onslaught guided Multan Sultans to 186. After losing the toss, the table toppers went off to a disastrous start as they lost both openers – Zeeshan Ashfraf and Moeen Ali – with four runs on the board.

Skipper Shan Masood played a responsible knock of 42 of 29 deliveries alongside Ravi Bopara, who notch 33, to set Sultans back on track.

When team score reached 79, David Wiese removed both Shan and Bopara to reduce Sultans to 91/5. At this stage Shah and Rohail Nazil managed to put a 74-run stand between them for the sixth wicket to lead the side to a massive total of 186 on lose of six wickets.

Shah remained unbeaten on 70 off just 29 deliveries while Rohail departed after scoring 24.

Shaheen Shah Afridi and David Wiese were pick of Qalandars bowling attack as they claimed two wickets each for the winning side.
