Prices of important kitchen items, including live chicken/meat, vegetable, pulses, sugar, flour, fruits and other have increased manifold in retail market, according to a survey carried out by Business Recorder here on Sunday.

The survey noticed that live-chicken/meat is being sold at Rs 176 per kg which was selling at Rs 166 per kg in the previous week as compared to preceding week in local market. However, the price of farm eggs was remained unchanged as available at Rs 100-110 per dozen. Cow meat is being sold at Rs 450-480 per kg against official fixed rate of Rs 350 per kg in local market. Mutton beef was being sold at Rs 1000 per kg.

Sugar is available at Rs 80-85 per kg while gram flour (baisen) price was remained unchanged in retail market as available at Rs 150-160 per kg, it was witnessed. A considerable increase in prices of veggies was witnessed in local market. According to the survey, onion is being sold at Rs 100 per kg which was selling at Rs 70-80 per kg in the previous week.

Garlic is being sold at Rs 300-350 per kg, while ginger was available at Rs 400-450 per kg. Green chili was priced at Rs 200 per kg which was selling at Rs 150 per kg in the previous week. Lemon is being sold at Rs 120 per kg. Price of tomato was stable as available at Rs 40-50 per kg.

Likewise, a sharp raise in price of arvi was noticed in local market as available at Rs 140 per kg against the price of Rs 100 per kg in the last week. Similarly, the capsicum was available at Rs 130 per kg against the rate of Rs 120 per kg in previous week. Peas are priced at Rs 80-100 per kg. Carrots are being sold at Rs 60-70 per kg.

The survey furthermore said cauliflower at Rs 70-80 per kg, cabbage at Rs 60 per kg, bringle at Rs 60-70 per kg. Apple, long and round gourds are being sold within range of Rs 70-80 and Rs 100 per kg in local market. Bitter gourds are being available at Rs 150 per kg, while lady finger was available at Rs 100-120 per kg in local market. Red potatoes are being sold at Rs 50-60 per kg, which was selling at Rs 40 per kg in the previous week.

The survey was noticed the prices of food grains (pulses) have remained unchanged in retail market as no significant increase or decrease was witnessed in the previous week as compared to preceding week.

Dal mash price is being sold at Rs 240 per kg. Likewise, it further witnessed dhoti dal is available at Rs 240 per kg which was selling at Rs-190 per kg in the last week. It added white lobiya is being sold at Rs 200 per kg against the price of Rs 160 per kg. Dal black (chilka) was available at Rs 220 per kg against the price of Rs 180 per kg, while dal green (chilka) priced at Rs 200 per kg against the Rs 170 per kg, showing an increase of Rs 30 per kg. Similarly, a substantial increase in price of Moonge was noticed in retail market as available Rs 200 per kg, which was selling at Rs 160 per kg. Good quality rice (sela) is being sold at Rs 150 per kg against the price of Rs 140 per kg in the previous week, whereas toota rice brown colour is being sold at Rs 80 per kg and white colour at Rs 70 per kg.

Chinese red bean is being sold at Rs 190 per kg against the price of Rs 180 per kg while Tajikistani red bean was available at Rs 170 per kg, which was selling at Rs 170 per kg in the last week.

Dal channa is being sold at Rs 180 per kg which was selling at Rs 170 per kg in the previous week. Big size white channa is being available at Rs 140 per kg while small-size white channa priced at Rs 10 per kg. According to the survey, prices of almost all brand and quality of cooking oil and ghee have unchanged in retail market.
