The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration on Thursday decided to close all shopping malls, hotels, weekly bazaars, parks, and the city zoo, as part
of the measures aimed at discouraging public gatherings.
This was decided during a meeting held to review measures regarding prevention of coronavirus.
The meeting, which was presided by deputy commissioner Islamabad, also decided to convert selected hotels and hostels into quarantine facility.
All public and private hospitals in the city will set up isolation wards with necessary equipments and rapid response units to take quick action against suspected cases of coronavirus.
Police will be deputed at all public and private hospitals to deals with any security situation.
SOP will be developed for burial ceremonies of coronavirus victims to avoid viral infections.
According to another notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, in the wake of the current situation, it was decided to reduce the strength of staff by 50 percent, and all officials above 50 years of age due to being more vulnerable may stay at their homes.
