The Karachi Port handled 106,378 tonnes of cargo comprising 89,941 tonnes of import cargo and 16,437 tonnes of export cargo including 4,700 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargos of 89,941 tonnes comprised of 30,669 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,481 tonnes of chemical and 57,791 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 16,437 tonnes comprised of 16,437 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,700 containers comprising of 1,940 containers of import and 2,760 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 932 of 20's and 477 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 27 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 253 of 20's and 541 of 40's loaded containers while 729 of 20's and 348 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Rome Express, Ever Ursula, Utrillo and Rainbow Island-88 carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. Express Bardsey, Utrillo, Sea King, Eastern Chemi, Rainbow Island-88 and Marmund carrying containers, tankers, chemical and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There is one ship namely Hafnia Europe carrying mogas expected to sail on Friday while another ship namely Express Bardsey carrying containers is expected to sail on Saturday. There is one vessel viz. Telemann carrying containers due to arrive on Friday while six more vessels viz. Hyundai Long, Shiling, Smiley Lady, Blue Moon, Bow Santos and Grand Hermes carrying containers, tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 150,210 tonnes comprising of 127,540 tonnes of import cargo and 22,670 tonnes of export cargo including 3,313 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 127,540 tonnes includes 42,609 tonnes of coal; 27,266 tonnes of mogas; 7,940 tonnes of palm oil; 2,400 tonnes of LPG; 1,386 tonnes of bitumen, 662 tonnes of palm kernel and 45,277 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 22,670 tonnes includes 5,000 tonnes of rice and 17,670 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,313 containers comprising of 2,383 containers import and 930 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There was one ship namely KN Forest carrying coal sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while five more ships namely Maersk Benonville, Baltic Leopard, Gas Athena, Georgia-M and NSH Singapore carrying containers, coal, LPG, mogas and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, rice, LPG, LNG, mogas, palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten vessels viz. Smiley Lady, IVS Hayakita, Bittern, KPS Remzi Bey, Glory Harvest, Falcon Royal, Al-Salam-II, BW Danube, NSH Singapore and Horizon carrying containers, bitumen, spare parts, coal, LPG, LNG, diesel oil; palm kernel and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four ships viz. Smiley Lady, Bittern, Glory Harvest and Al-Salam-II carrying containers, coal, LPG and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday. There are two ships namely Diyala and Kiel Trader carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
