Theft and carjacking cases on the rise in Capital

The incidents of different kinds of theft and carjacking witnessed an increase in the city as over eight cases of theft including robbery and snatching at gunpoint as well six cases of car lifting were reported to various police stations here during last week.
According to the data collected by Business Recorder, criminal gangs rule the roost in the limits of Shalimar, Kohsar, Bhara Kahu, and Lohi Bhir police stations. During the last week, two cases of robbery were reported to Shalimar Police Station.
Khadija lodged a complaint with the Shalimar Police Station that unidentified robbers stole gold ornaments, and a LCD monitor from her house. Another, Faisal Shehzad informed Shalimar Police Station that three armed persons entered his shop through the backdoor and snatched Rs 3,630,000.
He suspected that his employee, Ehtisham had committed the crime through Haseeb and others. In the same period, Kohsar Police Station registered one case of auto theft and robbery. Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number STN-2081 of value Rs 70,000 belonging to Shumail Zeerik.
Sanaullah lodged a complaint with Kohsar Police Station that the accused, Muhamamd Shmaat stole a precious stone belonging to him worth Rs 700,000. Liaqat Ali informed Bhara Kahu Police Station that unidentified robbers stole his UPS, a LCD monitor, and a mobile phone of value Rs 45,000 from his home.
Another, Aurangzeb lodged a complaint with Lohi Bheer Police Station that unidentified robbers stole cash, gold ornament, LCD and DVD of value Rs 1,800,000 from his house. In the same period, one case each of auto theft was reported to Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Golra and Aabpara police stations. Similarly, Tarnol and Nilor police stations registered one case each of kidnapping during the last week.
