Mohammad Parvez, a retired Treasury Officer of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has demanded of the Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Justice of Pakistan and Governor SBP for provision of justice to him and guaranteeing his right.
Talking to this scribe, the retired employee said that in 2001, then Chief Manager SBP Peshawar promoted 13 Assistant Treasury Officers as Treasury Officers (Officer Grade-II) that were junior to him and sis others. For justice and redressal, they filed petitions in the Federal Services Tribunal, Islamabad that reserved decision after 5 years long arguments from counsels of the parties in litigation, but could not announce its decision as the then Chief Justice transferred all such cases to other courts.
However, he said that Supreme Court had already decided an identical case of one Dr, Mohammad Arif in his favour and our case could have been decided on the same analogy on the basis of the same principles. Under the orders of the Chief Justice, Supreme Court, the case was sent to Peshawar High Court (PHC) that accepted our petition and directed the SBP to decide the factum of national promotion of the petitioners in accordance with the law settled by Supreme Court in 2017 SCMR.
He said that though the Chief Manager SBP Peshawar on the order of the high court ordered preparation of our dues/arrears, but after taking somersault at some state the order of the PHC was set aside and a 5-member committee was formulated to examine the matter.
The committee in violation of the order of Peshawar High Court adopted pick and choose policy and selected only one Assistant Treasury Officer for promotion while the other six petitioners were declared eligible for promotion and the Registrar of the court was informed that the order was complied with that was totally wrong and unjustified and mockery of justice.
He said that they had spent their hardly earned resources on the litigation and struggle of their rights while on the other hand the management had spent millions of rupees on hiring senior counsels like late Fakhruddin G Ibrahim and other famous/expensive lawyers with only one aim to deprive us from our legitimate and lawful right.
The aggrieved persons have also registered his complaint on the PM's Portal, but no action was taken. They are demanding the decisions of the higher judiciary to provide them relief in old age.
