Lockdown in Sindh: APNS asks government to exempt newspaper employees, hawkers
Government of Sindh has announced strong measures to enforce complete lockdown in order to combat the aggravating pandemic COVID 19 condition in Sindh. The All Pakistan Newspapers Society has noted that the movement of people would be restricted by law enforcing agencies as a result of the Chief Minister's announcement.
The APNS appreciates the efforts of the Sindh government and hopes that the employees relating to essential services including workers and staff of newspapers and the hawkers distributing newspapers will be exempted from the enforcement of this lock down. APNS believes that in the fight against coronavirus, the media will play a vital role in disseminating awareness and educating the masses. Therefore, the APNS requests the Sindh government to issue necessary instructions to exempt newspaper employees and hawkers from the lockdown so that newspapers can be delivered to the people of Sindh without any interruption.-PR
