NA speaker to chair parliamentary leaders' meeting today
The National Assembly Speaker, Asad Qaiser, would chair a meeting of parliamentary leaders on Wednesday (today) in the Parliament to discuss spread of coronavirus and its negative impact on economy, and formation of a committee to look into the measures taken by the government in this regard.
A Skype group has been created to facilitate participation of parliamentary leaders in the meeting through video conferencing at 3:00pm in Parliament House.
The speaker National Assembly took the initiative to gather parliamentary leadership in the National Assembly and Senate together to forge a unified stand on how to counter the spread of coronavirus and its drastic negative impact on economy of the country.
He also took the initiative of forming a parliamentary committee to oversee the measures taken by the government in that regard.
The parliamentary leaders have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting.
In case of their inability to participate in the meeting in Islamabad they may ensure their participation through the Skype group created for the purpose.
The meeting will discuss the issue of setting up a parliamentary committee to address the potential risks of the coronavirus and its adverse effects on the economy.
