Coronavirus: One more death in Lahore raises toll to 10 in country

Another coronavirus patient, Hanif, who was resident of Sheikhupura, has died raising the death toll due to COVID-19 to 10 in Pakistan.
This is 3rd death of corona in Lahore and 4th in Punjab, raising fears among the people.
The CEO Mayo Hospital Prof Dr. Asad Aslam, however, said Hanif died due to cardiac arrest, but video released by co-patient showing Hanif tightened with ropes and crying and begging for help. This has raised various questions besides opening a new debate about care of the corona patients.
Sources claimed that around 48 confirmed patients are admitted at Mayo Hospital and they are being extended healthcare. The patients are in Isolation Wards.
Punjab's Primary and Secondary Healthcare department has confirmed the death. With 20 new cases, the number of positive cases in Punjab crosses the figure to 430.
According to the department, 217 cases are of pilgrims in Dera Ghazi Khan, 22 in Multan, 104 people in Lahore, 22 in Gujrat, 8 in Gujranwala, 19 in Jhelum, 12 in Rawalpindi, 3 in Faisalabad, 2 in Mandi Bahauddin, one in Narowal, 2 in Mianwali and one each in Sargodha, Bahawalnagar, Attock and Rahim Yar Khan have tested positive for Covid-19.
On the other hand, jawans of Lahore Police presented guard of honors to doctors and paramedics of Sir Gangaram and Mayo Hospitals. The officers of Lahore police also presented bouquet to the doctors.
Medical Superintendent of Service Hospital said there are only four confirmed Corona patients in the hospital while there are 220 suspects and reports of 30 patients are awaited.
Like other hospitals, all the departments of the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences have been mobilized for various measures against the Corona and to keep the neuro-surgery patients safe and treat them at home different steps have been ensured.
Skype and WhatsApp ID's numbers have been released to provide guidance on the facilities of neuro diseases.
According to Executive Director of Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences, Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, people with neuro disorders can contact on Skype from 9am to 9pm at pins.neurosurgery @gmail.com and call at WhatsApp 03099649586 while for the same number mobile phone facility will also be available. He said that the emergency department of Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences will be active 24 hours while special medical services will be provided to prevent coronavirus in these days.
Executive Director Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood said, "There is no doubt that, like the rest of the world, we are facing a special situation with regard to the corona and in these situations the doctors, nurses who compete on the frontline are asset of the Nation."
He added that every worker of paramedical staff is worthy of praise, and Prime Minister Imran Khan has rightly taken positive step towards acknowledging their services. He appealed to the citizens to support the government's efforts to control corona and to follow all security measures while staying at home.
