Marco Asensio would be ready to take the field for Real Madrid whenever football resumes, as the ace mid-fielder recovered from long injury.

The 24-year-old Spanish international suffered a devastating ACL rupture to his left knee during a pre-season clash with Arsenal in July, when he collided with Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. His awkward fall caused serious damage to both the ACL and exterior meniscus.

However, after his surgery eight months ago, the mid-fielder is almost ready to return to action. He was doing fitness and fitness and strength work at Real Madrid's Valdebebas training ground and was on the verge of joining first-team training before coronavirus spoiled the party.

After the club's basketball players tested positive for coronavirus in March, the facility was closed with athletes forced to work from home.

As per AS, the Spaniard took home a load of equipment and transformed his lounge and garden into gym.

Since he is self-isolation, the footballer reportedly has done sessions with his brother Igor, sometimes working for up to eight hours a day, with the country in lockdown.

As well as gym and pool work, Asensio has finally begun training with a ball at his feet again - providing both a physical and mental lift.

Asensio is appreciating life more, has extra determination to succeed and even lost weight by improving his diet.

His next goal is to get back to training with his team-mates and after that he has his eyes focused on stepping back on to the Bernabeu pitch to help Zinedine Zidane's side finish the season.
